ROMANIA DEF. ITALY 4-1

March 21, 2011

The K1 Italian National team which participated in the 2nd event of the 2011 Wako-Pro World Grand Prix which took place in Ramniku Volcea (180 km. far from Bucharest) was clearly defeated by 4-1 by the strong Romanian team.

However the Italiansquad, formed by Tiziano Mascoli (60 kgs), Fabio Nubile (66.800), Roberto Cocco (75), Lelio Ramunni (81 ) and Alex Rossi (94) , well coached by Marco Franzia, Giorgio Iannelli and Matteo Milani, did quite well notwithstanding the bad result.

All fighters finished their matches which were quite close, apart from Nubile who was overpowered by Ionut Atodiresei. Best fighter of the Italian team though was Roberto Cocco, who gave a kickboxing lesson to his opponent Marius Tita (thanks to his great international experience), granting to his team the only victory.

But the best match of the whole event was the Arnaldo Silva’sWako-Pro world title defense against the local hero and challenger Mihail Barbu. In a very intense fight, Silva knocked out his opponent in the 5 th round , after having tasted himself the canvas in the 4 th .

The Romania event was beautifully organized by Eduard Irimia who set up a splendid choreography in the local sport-hall which hosted 2500 spectators.

Like in Belgrade, Eurosport was there in Romania with their journalist Sam Pagal, who will put on air in his FIGHT CLUB (March 31 st ) a synthesis of the two events.
