WAKO by the present would like to remind and give all of its members general information about next editionof SPORTACCORD WORLD COMBAT GAMESthat, under IOC patronage, will be organized in St. Petersburg, Russia, from 18th to 28th October 2013.
As previously announced K-1 style has been replaced by Low Kick.
So for this second edition Kickboxing will be re-presented in the same disciplines as in Beijing 2010;
FULL CONTACT, LOW KICK, SEMICONTACT with 8 athletes in each weight category for a total of 96 athletes.
Another important change decided by WAKO Board refers to the female weight categories, in order to give opportunity to different female classes to attend the Combat Games.
Final weight categories and styles as defined by WAKO standing board for 2013 Sportaccord Combat Games for Kickboxing Sport are the following:
Male: -63,5 Kg, -71 Kg, -91 Kg
Female: -56 Kg
Male: -67 Kg, -75 Kg, -81 Kg
Female: -52 Kg
Male: -63 Kg, -74 Kg, -84 Kg
Female: -60 Kg
WAKO will have its qualifications among its members in occasion of the following events, in order to ensure the world wide participation in the most important event for our Sport &rdash; our Olympics J
• 27-30 September 2012 in Antananarivo (Madagascar):
AFRICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS (Full contact, Low Kick, Semi contact)
• 28 October-3 November 2012 in Ankara (Turkey):
EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS (Low Kick)
• 24 November-2 December 2012 in Bucharest (Romania):
EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS (Full contact, Semi contact)
• 6-9 December 2012 in Foz do Iguazu (Brazil):
PANAMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS (Full contact, Low Kick, Semi contact)
• December 2012 (dates to be announced soon) in Jordan:
ASIAN/OCEANIA CHAMPIONSHIPS (Full contact, Low Kick, Semi contact)
Number of athletes from each continent will be: 4 from Europe, 2 from Asia/Oceania, 1 from Africa, 1 from Pan America
