Criteria for WAKO referees licence – Tatami Sports

1. Referees must have an up to date Wako National Licence

Signed & Stamped by their federation / Organisation.

2. Referees / Judges must officiate at :

Two Official Wako World Cups before they attend a Wako World / Continental Championships.

C Class Licence / Grade:

Referees must officiate at least 1 Wako World Cup & 1 Wako World Or Continental Championships for the whole duration of the tournament, and must attend the Wako International referees seminar.
This must be completed within 1 year

1. Referees / Judges must be able to understand how to work the electronic scoreboard system for Points fighting / Light contact and Kick Light

2. Referees / Judges must be able to understand, Know and apply the Wako rules

B Class Licence / Grade:

Referees must officiate at least 2 Wako World Cups & 2 Wako World Or Continental Championships for the whole duration of the tournament, and must attend the Wako International referees seminar.

This must be completed within 1 year

1. Referees / Judges must be able to answer and also be able to solve Issues Or problems.

2. Referees / Judges must be able to work in all positions: Centre Referee, Observer, Side Judge, Score keeper and also be able to help with Draw sheets,

A Class Licence / Grade:

Referees must officiate at least 2 Wako World Cups & 2 Wako World Or Continental Championships for the whole duration of the tournament, and must attend the Wako International referees seminar.This must be completed within 1 year

1. Referees / Judges must be able to answer and also be able to solve Issues Or problems.
Referees / Judges must be able to officiate in All 3 Wako Tatami disciplines
Points Fighting – Light Contact – Kick Light,

2. Referees / Judges must be able to work in all positions: Chief Referee, Observer, Centre Referee, Side Judge, Score keeper, Draw sheets and also Announcements,

General Rules for ALL Wako Referees / Judges:

1. Referees / Judges should be able to work as a Wako official at a tournament Weigh-in,

2. All Referees must be able to talk and understand a little English so that they can Understand and acknowledge other officials / Coaches / Fighters,

2. Referees / Judges should not be seen to coach or Support their countries fighters or Competitors at any Wako International tournament

3. All Referees / Judges MUST be impartial and fair when making decisions regardless of What the nationality of the competitor is.

4. All Referees / Judges must show respect and courtesy to coaches, fighters and other Officials

5. All Referees / Judges must not comment on decisions given by other Wako officials

6. All Referees / Judges must wear the correct official Wako dress at all tournaments
