Report on 2nd module of the WAKO GameChangers program, Budapest, Hungary, on 15th September 2021

TO ALL WAKO MEMBERS

Dear National Federations Presidents,

It is with great pleasure to attach here below our report about the progress on our WAKO GameChangers education program.

I would like to congratulate Espen Lund and Zsolt Moradi for the engagement, interaction and work in this regard, the event was a tremendous success. We were honored to have a lecture from the IOC member from Hungary and former President of Hungary, Pál Schmitt, making a presentation about sport and politics, one of the many inspirational guest speakers.

The second module in our WAKO GameChangers program was successfully organized in Budapest, Hungary, on 15th September 2021. This was the first physical module with our 15 great talents from 15 countries. We had our first introduction module in June and at that first module I introduced WAKO and gave the participants, selected into three teams, some specific GLOBAL problem statements.

They presented possible solutions on problem statements and everybody was involved and engaged as a team. We facilitated a lecture about good governance followed by breakout sessions and presentations of solutions by all the participants, alongside team building exercises.

We had involvement from the IOC and from Hungarian NOC Athlete Committee.

What an extraordinary day, what a group of young, positive, motivated and competent people, what a extraordinary future WAKO will have if we develop our next leadership team and create real sustainable succession planning something we have never done in our history.

A sincere thanks for the support from the Hungarian Federation, Zsolt, Espen and also the new WAKO Europe president Istvan Kiraly.

Best regards,

Roy Baker
WAKO President
