The WAKO Ordinary General Assembly was held during the WAKO World Championships in Antalya, Turkey, on Monday, November 25th.
The main point of the Assembly was the changes in the WAKO Statutes, followed by the new Board election. The Main Statutes was decided by a vast majority, with over 10 countries bringing forward a relevant view point.
President's position was not up for election as he was elected this year during the Extraordinary GA and President Roy Baker was chairing the meeting following the agenda reporting about 2019 activities. The election of the entire Board, except the President position, was conducted and the result was a vast majority for the suggested positions. Immediately after the General Assembly a Board meeting was conducted during which the Vice-Presidents and Treasurer were selected as detailed in the statutes.

President Mr. Baker commented that the new Board has a big responsibility in regard to the ongoing development of Kickboxing sport as the provisionally IOC recognized sport. We have come a long way in our journey, but the important focus must be on mobilization in the various continents and the development of the national federations following his announcement of a weekend workshop where all national federations will be invited to participate in sharing best practice in sports governance, financial accounting, athlete and coach development, administration infrastructure,doping control and gender balance.
