WAKO ASIA IN CHARGE OF KICKBOXING IN ASIAN INDOOR GAMES

May 30, 2007

The Olympic Council of Asia has recently organized a general meeting of all international federations participating in their next Asian Indoor Games.
Meeting was held in beautiful Macau and Mr. Nasser Nassiri, WAKO ASIA continental division president, was there representing our kickboxing.
He met Mr. Hussain Al-Musallam, OCA’s General manager and all other Asian sports representatives.

The atmosphere of the meeting was extremely cooperative and warm and all sports leaders showed real pride and enthusiasm about the project.
WAKO ASIA will select the countries participating in the next kickboxing tournament in Macau. Together with the WAKO Board, WAKO ASIA has decided to concentrate only on 3 of its styles, more exactly on semi contact, full contact and low-kick. We will have only a male tournament and in each style we have decided to have 5 weight classes only, so to have a national team with a maximum of 15 competitors.
Through the next Asian Indoor Games Kickboxing noturnament, WAKO will have a great possibility to show the value of our sport and its great potential.
A detailed program has been already established and soon will be sent out to those countries WAKO ASIA have chosen to compete.
