WAKO IN PERU

May 30, 2007

The Coliseo Mauro Mine, was the seat of our Peruvian National Championship of Kickboxing WAKO , a tournament which was a must for our fighters in order to select the national tam to represent Peru in the next WAKO World Championships.

The Championship was closed with the celebration of 25 matches at the end of a long and busy week-end.
17 regions out of the 26 existing in Peru have participated, with almost 350 participants. Therefore we must congratulate the organizers of the Peruvian Federation of Kickboxing & sports of Contact and all the delegations for their hard work of promotion and for the outstanding competitions that characterized the tournament.

The province representatives arrived in Lima early morning on Friday for the official weigh in and the medical control. All teams arrived in good technical and physical state at this competition, since many competitions inside each region had been made, that allowed them to acquire a greater degree of experience.

Some of the most impressive results were:

– Female Light Contact. Yovana Towers of Ayacucho who did very well, beginning her final and scoring suitably with her punches. At the end of the fight she defeated clearly Shirley Flowers, the representative of Arequipa ,
Male -60 kg Low Kicks. Sesoko stopping in the first round his opponent from Arequipa, David Larico by RSC .
– -63,5 kg Male Full Contact. Eric Cáceres fighting huancaíno Mesías Ortega in the final. Cáceres dominated the opponent who was obliged to stop in the first round when almost k.o.
– -54 Masculine kg Low Kicks. Rapray made 2 magnificent combats, winning always by T.K.O. especially in the final against Wilder Heads of Huancayo.
– -75 masculine kg Low Kicks. Eduardo Ccallo, representative of Tacna, won by a spectacular K.O. leaving his rival Luciano Diaz, of Bothers, no hope.
