Dear WAKO Asia members,

On behalf of WAKO (IF) and WAKO Asia, I am pleased to inform you that during the 57th Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Executive Board meeting, which was held earlier today at the Ramada Plaza Astana, a contract was signed with Korean Olympic Committee President Y. S. Park for the 4th Asian Indoor-Martial Arts Games in Incheon, Korea, in 2013.

The newly combined Indoor and Martial Arts Games will feature nine sports suitable to test venues ahead of the 17th Asian Games in Incheon in 2014.

As you are informed, following the recognition granted by OCA to WAKO ASIA as body in charge of Kickboxing sport, the sport of Kickboxing was included in 2007 Macau Asian Indoor Games as demo sport and then as official sport during 2009 Bangkok Asian Martial Arts Games and 2009 Vietnam Asian Indoor Games.

Furthermore, WAKO Asia as being the governing body for Kickboxing sport in Asia, is preparing actually an application for inclusion of Kickboxing sport in 17th Asian Games in Incheon in 2014.
