MR LUND IN CHINA…

December 13, 2011

WAKO Vice-President Espen Lund visited Beijing as Sportaccord Council Member during the 1st edition of the Sportaccord World Mind Games. Mr Lund was there together with President Hein Verbruggen and Vice-President Ron Froehlich. These Games were undoubtly a success and Lund as a member of a new Steering Committee for Multi Sport Games needed to experience this concept and its possibilities.

During the stay Lund also had a fruitful meeting with the Chinese Wushu Federation in their office. Lund introduced the meeting handing over the new book of WAKO, written by Mr Falsoni in addition to other material. Then the Wushu federation reported about the activity and developement so far. A plan of development was discussed and we hope to see a rapid further development of our sport in China, under the control of the Wushu federation – that is considered as the martial art group under governmental support, developing many disciplines and sports, e.g Muaythai, Kendo and MMA. In the picture you will see the “extreme tall” Lund together with the Chinese delegation under the leadership of Mr. Zhou Jinbiao, leader of the department in charge for WAKO Kickboxing.

In addition to other meetings with the Wushu federation during the Sportaccord World Combat Games last year, we can now consider Kickboxing well established in China.
