The World Association of Kickboxing Organizations announced the signing of contracts with two sponsors for the next four years in regard to its protective equipment and clothing, winning proposal came from Top Ten and adidas two worldwide prestige brands within the sport market.
President of WAKO, Roy Baker, said:
“This is a great day for our sport, the ongoing development of the sport at grass roots coupled with our continued expansion in the world today with over 139 member countries is showing that the growth of our sport worldwide continues to increase, securing multi-year sponsors of the caliber of Top Ten and adidas shows our members and those beyond, that this sport can attract sponsors of the top caliber. This year we went out with an ITT (Invitation To Tender) and we in particular focused around multiple areas not just the financial but also the ethical and environmental concerns we all have. I am delighted to say that as part of the vetting process we required full CE certification and independent verification from the company’s of no child labor use, something we in WAKO feel strongly about. Having brands like adidas and Top Ten intrinsically linked to our sport, is a winning formula for the future.”
Positive Athlete and Sport Impact
The quality of the equipment from both manufactures was far beyond that of its competitors, the stringent quality control and international testing standards applied to their products ensured maximum protection for our most precious commodity, the athlete.
Below are two announcements following the signing of the contracts from the two premium brand sponsors.
TOP TEN continues its support as platinum partner of WAKO
“I am very proud that the contract with WAKO has been extended for 4 years more.
The cooperation between TOP TEN and WAKO has been a successful teamwork since 1981. There have been plenty of great and innovative ideas which led to the famous headguards, boxing gloves, pointfighting gloves and much more. From the beginning, it has been an aim for TOP TEN to equip the fighters with the best protective gear possible.
I am looking forward to continue the great cooperation with WAKO for the next years and hope to see many fighters with TOP TEN equipment at all these fantastic and well organized WAKO events”, said Peter Kruckenhauser (CEO) after signing the contract.
