We have reached a new milestone in our international status by being recognized by FISU.
We already have an extended student and university activity and on behalf of you all, I am proud that WAKO has become recognized by FISU.

This has been a long process with two years of work. We have structured documentation, have had meetings, have executed two surveys and got documentation to prove our work within this field.

FISU (International University Sports Federation) is an IOC recognized organization and this recognition simply manifest again WAKO as a robust organization worldwide.
Students are the important target group for WAKO.

Energetic, goal targeted activities for this young group are important to develop our organization and to keep our great athletes inside our great sport. The door opens for more national federations do develop activities nationally and for WAKO internationally doors open to enter the games and activities inside the FISU umbrella.

As President, I am sure this recognition will strengthen WAKO within the field of students population, an important market for our sport.

Not to say that we develop in line with the Olympic Movement.

Thank you to all national federations working with us for the surveys, for the papers provided, for the support given and of course thank you for the activities you already organize for students.

Last but not least I send out deep gratitude to FISU and their President Oleg Matytsin and his team for accepting us.

Next goal for 2017 – IOC recognition!

Sincerely,

Prof. Dr. Borislav Pelevic
WAKO President
