WAKO Board, during their recent first 2008 meeting, would have liked to have only 1 seat for our Pan American Championships this year.

The “tatami sports” ,originally scheduled in Orlando (Florida-USA) at the end of August, have been officially cancelled due to the difficulties, for many countries, to enter USA nowadays.

We hoped to be able to organize the “tatami sports” – originally planned in Orlando- together with the “ring sports” in Vina Del Mar (Chile) from 15 to 19 October.

Mr. Paulo Zorello was in Chile last week and had a fruitful meeting with Mr. Nilic, the president of the National Olympic Committee there who will support our kickboxing event which seems to be the biggest ever had in that country. But the sport-hall is too small and they can host only a maximum of 200 competitors (i.e. ring sports).

Pauolo Zorello himself is now planning to have the WAKO Pan American Championships in “tatami sports” in Brazil around Nove,nber-December this year. If he gets the support of al Northern American countries, he will promote the event. So, let’s keep in touch.
