WAKO PanAm inaugurates its first Training Center in Piracicaba (Brazil)

PIRACICABA/SP – The Pan American Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO PanAm), with the support of Piracicaba’s Municipal Secretary of Sports, Leisure and Motor Activities (SELAM, in Portuguese), opened its first Training Center on September 4th, 2014. Situated in Sao Paulo State, Piracicaba was chosen for its renown after excellent results in kickboxing amateur circuit.

The Training Center is a pioneering initiative of WAKO PanAm to offer all the required structure to kickboxing practice and training. In addition to the kickboxing classes to the community, the Training Center will be used as base camp to the Brazilian Kickboxing Team.

One of the International Kickboxing Festival highlights, the inauguration counted with the presence of WAKO authorities such as Mr. Espen Lund (WAKO Acting President), Mr. Paulo Zorello (WAKO PanAm President), Mr. Nasser Nassiri (WAKO Vice President), Mr. Roy Baker (WAKO Board of Director member), Mr. Yuri Lakhtikov (WAKO Ring Sports Referee Committee Director) and Mr. Charles Post (WAKO USA).

Besides the WAKO authorities, Don “The Dragon” Wilson and Semmy Schilt, two of the best kickboxing fighters of all times, and many personalities from the local government were present in the event, such as Mr. Gabriel Ferrato dos Santos (Mayor of Piracicaba) and Mr. João Francisco Godoy (Secretary of Sports, Leisure and Motor Activities) were present in the event.
