TO ALL THE WAKO MEMBERS
After a successful 1st edition of the GameChangers program WAKO is ready to go for the next edition.
WAKO GameChangers (WGC) is a new development concept in WAKO. It is established under the Athlete Corner umbrella, WAKO’s learn and share concept, and it is built on the pillars to educate and develop future leaders in our sport. The concept is meant to improve the culture, to trigger the pride and curiosity among the WAKO youth and to act preventive.
The future generation is the asset to enable us to secure a sustainable future as a sport and as a member of the Olympic Family of sports. And of course of WAKO as a whole. The WGC are encouraged and enabled to learn about WAKO, international sport principles and the Olympic movement. It is also meant to strengthen good governance, transparency, integrity, involvement and communication. To create the next potential leaders of WAKO and hopefully some day the next President and/or board members. All in all how to run and develop an IF with a realistic and practical overview.
We search for 4 male and 4 female ambassadors preferably between 20-30 years, who play an active part in a WAKO national federation in some capacity. Active or former athletes are motivated to apply. The applicant needs to speak English and it is preferably that he/she has or has had an academic background.
As a governing body in the world, we always need to think about sustainability, about empowering the next generation, the next leaders, we need to expand and explore possibilities, to bring out the best in our people, to be curious, to learn and share. Education, development, accountability and integrity are fundamental pillars of WAKO and our future. That’s why the development inside the Athlete Corner is important to us, it is important for you and for our athletes. Let’s inspire and be inspired.
Please find below the application form in a Word document to be submitted by e-mail to info@wako.sport
NOT LATER THAN WEDNESDAY 10 MAY 2023.
We encourage your federation to apply for participation.
Due to the extensive Covid-19 outbreak WAKO needs to have a minimum planning in the timeline for the modules that will also include workshops, problem statements and solving live challenges.
